" Labor Day" weekend
Today I went to my LAST doctor appointment w/ tons of excitement and came out w/ some bittersweet news. The bad news is that my blood pressure was slightly elevated & my cervix was NOT dilated at all! My baby is a fully cooked little girl but she just does not want to come out the 'traditional' route. Go figure...a girl already being difficult and making up rules on her own. After talking it over w/ my doctor about which route is the safest for the baby & I, we decided that Tuesday is the day! I will be going into the hospital on Tuesday morning to check for any progress (My doc was not thinking I would have much based on several things I won't bore you with) If showing no progress I will be having a C-section b/c this little baby does need to come into the world. I am both very scared and very excited....I just want to do what is best for my little girl.
I plan on enjoying the weekend w/ Andy and watching some fireworks knowing that my own 'LABOR DAY' won't actually be till Tuesday. I will be updating my blog w/ pictures hopefully on Tuesday night of our little lady. Wishing you all a happy safe holiday weekend!
Please keep us in your prayers on Tuesday!

A bumpy 9 mos!
I just saw Minnie Driver baring her bump on E. tonight & it reminded me to post some pictures. I have a few but wasn't as good about recording all my weeks of pregnancy as I should have been. They were really fun to take in the beginning of pregnancy but as the months went on....It became quite cumbersome.
7wks
15wks
28wks
30wks
I have some more recent ones that I still need to download....but you get the idea!
Zoo visit???
I just read the following fun fact:
The longest gestation period for a mammal is that of the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) with an average of 660 days, and a maximum of 760 days.
....I really thought that my name would be in this category but it seems that the African elephant has me beat! I need to go to the zoo and find this animal and give her some extra peanuts b/c she is a strong woman! I don't have any news to report as of yet and probably won't till my doctor's appointment on Thursday. I will post some pregnancy / nursery shots later this week also.

New at Blogging-39 weeks
Hello everyone, Andy & I wanted to start a blog to record everything going on with our growing family. I thought this would be a great way to keep in touch with friends and family especially those from out of town. ( Special shout out to the Leckrones & the Rooney's)- fellow bloggers. I have loved looking at other friend's blogs and it has kept us up to date on their kids and adventures!
Baby update: I am 39 weeks and definitely feeling the pressures of being pregnant for a LONG TIME! It hasn't been a terrible experience and I have been incredibly blessed by all of it. I am just ready for the final 'reward' at this point. We can't wait to meet our little girl & see what she is like. I will update my blog a LOT especially when I can get some pictures of baby Ruwe.
My pregnancy was pretty uneventful which is always good when talking about pregnancy...I will actually miss some things about being pregnant:
- People are VERY nice to you when you are carrying around a BIG belly.
-Ice cream. I haven't restricted myself on what I could eat and this is about to change. I have had a great time eating what I have wanted & think in a few weeks that this will be missed.
-Nightly foot rubs from Andy - I am hoping these don't stop after the baby is born - I am going to try to keep them going. hey...having a baby is hard work. :)
-Feeling the little baby inside me all the time - I think it is such a cool feeling and I will actually miss that.
Things that I WILL NOT MISS;
- Maternity clothes - I am looking forward to shopping for some fall/ winter fashions that do not include elastic top pants.
- Ice cream - At this point, I am actually kind of sick of it and the people at dairy queen know what I want before I order. That is just sad!!!
- weight gain. I have managed to magically not gain 1000 lbs. but have stayed within my normal limits but it was still really hard to watch the scale needle rise. I am looking forward to it going in the opposite direction.
-Drinking water when I could be having a glass of wine or a cold beer!!!!
...I am sure the list could go on but the point is that I am just really ready to have this baby. For those of you who know me, I love fall and the winter holidays and look forward to having our little girl here to make it all complete this year. Thank you to all my friends that have been calling and sending emails wishing me luck & checking in on me. I appreciate it and will be asking lots of 'mommy' questions very soon..... Stay tuned...........
